I grew up in Eugene, Oregon with a loving family. My family lived in a forest near a river, so I was outside constantly. Whether it was playing baseball, building a skateboarding ramp, or getting into trouble, you could usually find me outside. After High school, I chose to pursue my baseball career in college which ultimately led me to finish a Psychology degree at a private college in Winfield, Kansas.
My college years were when I was stunned with my first taste of adversity. I wasn't getting the playing time on the field that I thought I deserved, I had terrible grades, and I gained around 55lbs of weight. I had no confidence in myself, my ambition slowly dwindled away, and I blamed it on everyone else. I thought the world owed me something.....Boy was I WRONG.
It took me a long time to figure out that I was the problem. ME, Not anyone else. The reason I gained 55lbs and wasn't getting playing time was because I was lazy, drinking heavily, and doing drugs since I was 15 years old. My coaches were not out get me, they wanted the best for me, I just didn't realize it. I spiraled down hard those 4 years of college, and I was lost in life.
It was one of my last couple months before I graduated college where I woke up with a different attitude. I knew this was all of my fault, and I needed to take action to change it. 1st things 1st, graduating and losing weight. I started taking my classes seriously, and went on a strict diet/fitness plan running 6 miles a day. I only ate raw fruits and vegetables, and in two months I went from 230lbs down to 165lbs. I also graduated with my degree. This was the turning point in my life where I started to understand what kind of man I wanted to be.
From that point on, my fitness career was the center of my life. I moved to Hawaii and started doing cross-fit, surfing and learning how to eat the right food. From there I started traveling the world which ended up landing me in San Diego, California
I starting my coaching/personal training journey in San Diego, where I obtained an amazing mentor/boss and friend named Jenny. She guided me to receive my cross-fit and Olympic lifting coaching certifications. From there, I continued to learn and grow for a total of 3 years in that city. I have met and trained 100's of amazing people, and I would not be here today without them.
Now I am currently doing full time online fitness, nutrition, and mindset coaching. I took my own personal experiences and the tools I have learned from my training to help with my coaching. I couldn't be happier. I truly care about this job and I wake up every day excited and blessed that I am able to help individuals change their lives.
To everyone that has helped get me here today, thank you. And to everyone who has doubted me, thank you even more. Doubt fuels the fire. Doubt gives me a reason to wake up everyday and kick ass.
Moral of the story, the world owes you NOTHING. If you don't take action, you will live a miserable life... Depressed, fat, and feeling lost. I know how that feels, and I would take my new life 100% of time. Just know it will not come easy, you have to want it.
Now get up and lets KICK ASS.
